If you like smoky collard greens, just add a touch of liquid smoke.

Ingredients

  • 1 bunch collard greens
  • 1 dash salt
  • 1 dash apple cider vinegar
  • 1 quart chicken stock
  • 3 quarts water
  • 1/2 tsp liquid smoke (optional)

Directions

  • Triple wash the greens by adding a little salt and vinegar to the wash water.
  • Chop up collards and add to a large pot. Add chicken stock, water, and liquid smoke, if desired.
  • Bring to a boil and cook over medium heat until liquid has reduced to about a quart.
  • Serve greens with their juices and hot pepper vinegar, if desired.
