The pungent, biting flavor of whole Black Mustard seeds features prominently in the traditional cuisines of Southern Indian. They’re generally toasted in vegetable oil, then mixed with cumin and turmeric for a smoky flavor sensation that’s perfect for potatoes & vegetable dishes.
Black Mustard seed has a more intense flavor than the traditional Yellow Mustard seed often used in Western cuisines. The whole seeds can be toasted and blended with onion, garlic and pepper for an intense yet flavorful dry rub.
