Alpina officinalis

Galangal is a perennial plant indigenous to China and Southeast Asia. This aromatic herb is from the Ginger family, and in fact, is traditionally used much like Ginger- for relieving digestive complaints and motion sickness.

With an aroma & taste reminiscent of Ginger, Galangal has been used effectively down through the centuries for indigestion, gas and nausea. One modern herbal guide also cites this spicy botanical for use in an enzyme-stimulating combination for improving food assimilation.
